You will find the following videos below, showcasing several features available in the LoadHelper.
The LoadHelper is a stand-alone program used to define project loading requirements from dead, live, wind, and seismic sources according to the ASCE 7 standard.
The LoadHelper can be used to build a dead and live load database from predefined ASCE 7 dead and live loads or from custom loads. The loads that are defined can be reused from project to project or applied to model objects in VisualAnalysis as discussed in the LoadHelper Integration with VA video.
The LoadHelper can be used determine the wind loads on a structure using the directional procedure for buildings of all heights according to ASCE 7 standard. The pressure coefficients, wind pressures, story forces, and base shear are all calculated in the program.
The LoadHelper can be used determine the seismic loads on a structure according to the ASCE 7 standard. The seismic design category, seismic response coefficient, response spectrum, period of the structure, base shear, and vertical distribution of the forces are all calculated in the program.
The dead and live loads generated in the stand alone LoadHelper are saved in a database and can be viewed in the ASCE Load Helper that is integrated within VisualAnalysis. These loads can be applied to model objects in VisualAnalysis. Also, the LoadHelper can be used to set the design spectral response acceleration and the seismic design category in VisualAnalysis.
