Creating Members (BACK TO TOP)

Demonstrates how to create members. Mouse drawing, splitting, extension, and deletion are demonstrated. A truss is created using the Create Tree.

Member Basics (BACK TO TOP)

Discusses the member local coordinate system, member releases, and member crossings are also covered.

Member Coordinate Systems (BACK TO TOP)

An overview of the three different coordinate systems (the global coordinate system, the local coordinate system, and the geometric coordinate system) that are used for members in VisualAnalysis.

Advanced Member Features (BACK TO TOP)

Demonstrates various member properties. These include end-releases, one-way action, centerline offsets, panel zones, and (advanced level) semi-rigid connections.

Manual Plate Elements (BACK TO TOP)

Demonstrates how to create plate element meshes. Mouse drawing, splitting, local axes are introduced. A plate mesh is created using the Create Tree.

Basic Areas (BACK TO TOP)

Demonstrates how to create areas and manipulate them. Mouse drawing of areas and embedded areas is shown. Holes, and corridors are discussed. Merging and vertex manipulation are also demonstrated.

Auto Meshed Areas (BACK TO TOP)

Requires Advanced Level

Demonstrates how to create areas from existing model objects. Advanced-level auto-meshing of areas is discussed along with meshing around holes and creating areas of increased mesh density.

Spring Supports (BACK TO TOP)

Demonstrates how to create elastic spring supports and manipulate them.  Flexible supports, angled supports and soil springs are presented.

Member Centerline Offset (BACK TO TOP)

An overview of how to offset members in VisualAnalysis and how the Offset Add Stiffness parameters affects the finite element model.
